The Pelham Art Festival is returning this weekend (May 9-11) for its 38th year, looking to showcase the best artists in the province.
Since 1988, visitors to the festival have spent over $1-million buying art, contributing to the economic prosperity of participating artists.
Member at Large Tammy van den Brink says the numbers continue to get bigger and bigger.
In addition to being an art attraction for many in the region, the Pelham Art Festival also has a charitable side to it.
Festival proceeds benefit the Lincoln Pelham Library and provide annual scholarships to graduating Pelham students who are pursuing post-secondary studies in fine art.
van den Brink says this is an important part of the festival each year.
To date, over $500,000 has been raised through the Pelham Art Festival.
Back again this year is also the virtual art festival, which is a place for artists to post artwork that may not otherwise be available to make it to the festival.
The in-person festival is being held at the Meridian Community Centre starting Friday, and running until Sunday.
