The Niagara Regional Police Service is getting geared up for their fifth annual Spring Forward Food Drive.
Led by officers from the Community Oriented Response and Engagement Unit, the drive has collected over 67,000 pounds of food and more than $42,000 in donations since it began.
This year, CORE officers are partnering with 10 food banks and 13 grocery stores across Niagara to meet the growing need.
Residents are encouraged to support the campaign by donating food, gift cards or cash.
Kickoff events are being held next Monday and include Welland No Frills, Port Colborne Sobeys and Grimsby Sobeys from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
